25.4mm BP Series - Broad Bandwidth Bandpass Filters

BP250-25.4 Deep-to-Near-UV Bandpass Filter

image

The BP250 Near-UV Bandpass Filter for Machine Vision is a very broadband UV filter, mainly intended for deep-UV imaging. It is the only MidOpt UV filter available that offers excellent visible and near-IR blocking (≤0.1% abs. ≥400nm; ≤0.06% abs. ≥415nm), thus making it best suited to distinguish features or characteristics that are only visible under UV illumination.

Offered in a limited number of sizes, and not intended for use with standard CCD/CMOS cameras that do not image deep into the UV spectrum.

BP324-25.4 Near-UV Bandpass Filter

image

Useful in UV imaging applications, BP324 filters have a broad spectral bandwidth in the UV while effectively blocking most visible and infrared light. Note that there is a slight deep red/near IR leak that peaks at about 720nm. Because this filter absorbs all unwanted visible and/or infrared light, it is not recommended for placement in front of intense (white) light sources.

BP340-25.4 Near-UV Bandpass Filter

image

BP340 UV Bandpass filters are an economical yet highly transmissive/high contrast alternative to far more costly thin film interference filters. This design combines rugged dielectric coatings and absorptive filter glass to ensure a highly stable passband and excellent out-of-band blocking, even when used in conjunction with very short focal length lenses. It also makes it possible to supply larger custom shapes and sizes – up to 165mm square – within a matter of days. BP340 finds use in UV fluorescence, forensic, scientific, multispectral, machine vision, sensing and other imaging applications.

BP365-25.4 Near-UV Bandpass Filter

image

BP365 UV Bandpass dichroic filters can be used with all UV LED, UV fluorescent and other UV-producing lamp-based lighting. BP365  filter material is designed to block the visible and pass UV light, including 395nm and all other popular UV LED wavelengths.  It is also useful for near-UV fluorescence imaging, blocking visible light and light from UVC LED excitation sources, allowing early removal of biofilms (for instance, in disinfection applications or biofouling of ship hulls) through tryptophan fluorescence detection. The substrate material is low-expansion Borofloat, making this filter particularly heat resistant.

BP450-25.4 Indigo Bandpass Filter

image

BP450 filters enhance viewing of subjects illuminated by a 450nm blue LED or laser light source and any UV- excited blue fluorescence emissions (420-470nm). Its broad bandwidth and high peak (T ≥90%) transmission results in significantly brighter, higher contrast images.

BP470-25.4 Blue Bandpass Filter

image

BP470 filters enhance viewing of subjects illuminated by blue LED lighting and any UV- excited blue fluorescence emissions (430-500nm). Its broad bandwidth and high peak (T ≥90%) transmission results in significantly brighter, higher contrast images. For most machine vision UV fluorescence applications, use of a BP470 filter is absolutely necessary. The StablEdge design prevents unwanted interference from lighting employed for UV excitation (365-405nm) even when the filter is used in conjunction with short focal length, wide angle lenses. BP470 is also frequently used in 3D measurement applications.

BP485-25.4 Absorptive Visible Bandpass/Near-IR Block Filter

image

BP485 is commonly used as an internal infrared blocking filter in cameras. When working with any camera that has had its internal filter removed, a mounted BP485 filter can also be considered in order to, when desired, allow it to once again work like the unmodified camera. BP485 is A/R coated on both sides and its spectral response in the blue portion of the spectrum is excellent compared to other absorptive IR blocking filters.

BP500-25.4 Green-Blue Bandpass Filter

image

The MidOpt BP500 Green-Blue Bandpass Filter is a gaussian bandpass filter with a useful range of 440nm – 555nm and a Full Width Half Maximum of 248nm. This optical filter features a Peak Transmission of greater than 85%

BP505-25.4 Cyan Bandpass Filter

image

MidOpt BP505 Cyan Blue Bandpass Filters for Machine Vision are single substrate, hard-coated filters designed to match the output of most cyan LEDs. Coupled with the spectral sensitivity of most CCD/CMOS sensors in use today that also peak in this range, using this filter can result in images that are especially bright and very high in contrast. It is particularly useful for line scan/wide angle applications.

BP525-25.4 Light Green Bandpass Filter

image

BP525 filter material is designed for use with green LED lighting, 532nm laser illumination and green UV fluorescence applications. A BP525 filter has a broader range, higher peak transmission and superior blocking of UV and NIR wavelengths compared to commonly found all-dichroic green bandpass filters —– improving contrast by blocking significantly more of the unwanted light. Because of its filter glass substrate, it is also less sensitive to changes in angle of incidence.

BP550-25.4 Near-IR/UV-Block Visible Bandpass Filter

image

BP550 filters effectively pass all visible light and block all light outside the visible range without “discoloring” the image. This single substrate, hard-coated filter is designed for use in full color, white light applications where either IR or UV light (or both) may be present.

    BP590-25.4 Orange Bandpass Filter

    image

BP590 filters are recommended for use in systems that make use of amber or orange LED lighting. These filters are also widely used in fluorescence imaging applications, particularly with dyes such as ethidium bromide, or when working with Qdot 565, 585 or 605.

    BP635-25.4 Light Red Bandpass Filter

    image

A BP635 filter is recommended for use with 615-645nm LED and laser diode lighting. Because of its broad bandwidth and high peak transmission, BP635 filters work very well for all “light red” lighting applications in this range.

    BP660-25.4 Dark Red Bandpass Filter

    image

MidOpt® BP660 Dark Red Bandpass Filters are recommended for use with 650-680nm LED and laser diode lighting. Because of the ample passband and excellent in-band transmission, it works well with all camera-related applications in this range.

It is best to double check the wavelength of red lighting used in your application before ordering.

    BP695-25.4 Near-IR Bandpass Filter

    image

Recommended for use with near-infrared LEDs. BP695 is also useful for imaging typically weak luminescence where the subject is often excited with 635nm or 660nm red LED lighting.

    BP735-25.4 Near-IR Bandpass Filter

    image

Recommended for use with near-infrared LEDs, BP735 filters are designed for viewing subjects in the 700-770nm range. Blocks all UV and visible light, optimizing results achieved with IR lighting used in traffic control and license plate recognition systems.

    BP800-25.4 Near-IR Bandpass Filter

    image

The BP800 Near-IR Bandpass Filter for Machine Vision is recommended for use with broadband (typically filtered) near infrared lighting, this single substrate, anti-reflection coated filter is a very broad absorptive filter. Among all absorptive filter glasses, it is unique in its ability to retain its opacity at thicknesses of 1mm and below.

    BP845-25.4 Near-IR Bandpass Filter

    image

BP845 bandpass filters are designed to provide excellent transmission at 850nm while blocking visible and lower near-IR wavelength transmission. At the same time, it will block longer wavelength near-IR light – particularly at 940nm. In covert or other near-IR applications where more than one near-IR light source is desired (typically 850nm and 940nm would be two common choices), BP845 can be used with cameras and lighting designed to capture 850nm images and will block unwanted/interfering 940nm illumination.

    BP850-25.4 Near-IR Bandpass Filter

    image

Recommended when using high-power 830-850nm LED or laser diode lighting to improve contrast in surveillance applications or when inspecting in the infrared, this filter features high peak transmission and particularly durable, robust coatings. This filter’s coated surface also greatly inhibits staining due to year-round issues with heat, humidity, and/or air quality that affect uncoated infrared filters.

    BP880-25.4 Near-IR Bandpass Filter

    image

Recommended when using high-power 860-880nm infrared LED lighting or 905-920nm laser diodes, this filter also features high peak transmission and rugged coatings that provide added environmental stability.

    BP1000-25.4 Short-Wave Infrared Bandpass Filter

    image

The MidOpt BP1000 is a gaussian bandpass filter with a useful range of 930nm – 1030nm and a Full Width Half Maximum of 150nm. This optical filter features a Peak Transmission of greater than 80% and is designed for use with 1000nm Short Wave Infrared (SWIR) LED’s.

    PE530-49 Photopic Response Bandpass Filter

    image

When using the PE530 with a monochrome (black-and-white) camera or other sensors, together with a broadband light source (such as the sun), the resulting spectral response replicates in the same proportions what the human eye will see, closely matching the CIE 1931 photopic luminosity curve. This is highly useful in applications requiring accurate lux, lumen or cd/m2 readings. Photopic response filters are also used in conjunction with ambient light detectors, for example photoelectric sensors used to control when infrared LED lighting is brought into use in day-night imaging applications. They are also used in automatic control of display backlight brightness and ambient light sensors used in mobile phones to appropriately dim or brighten a device’s screen.

    49mm PR/PC Series - Polarizing Filters

    PR032-49 Linear Polarizer

    image

Used to eliminate or greatly reduce glare, rotating linear polarizers offer maximum flexibility and ease of use.  Rotating the mount and visually observing the results makes it easy to determine the position at which reduction of glare is maximized. The locking thumb screw insures that vibration or accidental movement during cleaning keep the polarizer optimally positioned. Fixed, non-rotating mounts are also available.

PR120-49 Ultra High Contrast Linear Polarizer

    image

This ultra-high contrast Linear Polarizer has an extended polarization efficiency, is abrasion and solvent resistant and can withstand higher temperatures than typical polarizers. To maximize glare reduction, use the PR120 in combination with the Pg120 over the illuminating light source. Custom shapes and sizes are available up to 635 x 405mm (25″ x 16″). For unmounted option please use PG120.

PR1000-49 VIS/SWIR Wire Grid Linear Polarizer

    image

The PR1000 VIS/SWIR Wire Grid Linear Polarizer Mounted Filter is effective in both the visible and NIR (near-infrared), ranging from 400-2000nm. It’s efficient in glare reduction, with an average contrast ratio up to 8,000:1 and has an operating temperature rating of 100° C per 1,000 hours. To maximize glare reduction, use the PR1000 in combination with the PS1000 NIR Linear Polarizer Film over the illuminating light source.

The PR1000 also has an anti-reflection oleophobic coating to maximize transmission while repelling dirt and oil–making it the perfect polarizer for industrial imaging.

    Temperature Rating: 115°C x 240 hours

    PC052-49 Circular Polarizer

    image

Used to eliminate specular reflections and hot spots, Circular Polarizers in rotating mounts allow maximum flexibility and ease of use. However in most machine vision applications we recommend the use of linear rather than circular polarizers. Circular polarizers are recommended for eliminating glare from spherical surfaces or in cases where an auto-focus or metering system are used involving a beamsplitter or mirror mounted in the optical path inside the camera.
